House Updates Continued (Another Offer)

Hello blogger friends!

I wanted to keep you all posted on the saga that is selling our house.

Well, on Monday night (the same day that the previous buyer terminated her pending contract), we got another offer. Before anybody goes getting all excited, this offer wasn't as solid as the previous one. They also would like more of the existing items in our house (TV, washer/dryer, kitchen cart, etc.).

So negotiation has begun. We went back to the potential buyer with a number that's slightly higher than our "bottom line" number ― so no we we're waiting to hear their counter (or if they'll counter). In other news, to be eligible for the $8,000 first-time home buyer credit, home buyers have to put offers in this week. We hope this works in our favor. In the mean time, agents continue to show the house and our realtors continue fighting to sell our place.

This is great news!! I also believe that a couple weeks ago the Senate voted to extend the first time homebuyer tax credit. It just needs to make it's way through the House. I will keep my fingers crossed for you.

Thanks, C!

I have heard mixed things about how much the FHA has REALLY benefitted people who hadn't been able to buy OR neighborhoods that are really in need. Of course extending the act would be good for our home sale!
