Do people buy and/or rent movies without checking out their ratings beforehand?

you know - this is really funny bc matt thinks i have an obsession with rotten tomatoes. basically, i refuse to see a movie unless it gets >70%. usually matt is like "want to rent xx?" and i respond "well, what did it get on rotten tomatoes?"

now we take his blackberry to blockbuster in case i need to look up scores!
